Our History
Lawyers of Hope (LOH) was founded in 2006 by a group of committed Christian lawyers who shared a passion for promoting justice, protecting human rights, and improving the well-being of vulnerable people.
Inspired by the biblical call to defend the rights of the poor and needy and driven by a shared commitment to justice, compassion, and human dignity, they came together to establish an organization dedicated to transforming lives through practical action.
Since its establishment, Lawyers of Hope (LOH) has worked in close partnership with local communities, government institutions, faith-based organizations, civil society organizations, and development partners to address the social and legal challenges affecting vulnerable people. Through community-based and rights-focused programs, the organization has expanded access to education for vulnerable children and youth, provided legal aid and legal empowerment services, strengthened child protection and well-being, promoted women’s empowerment, advanced peaceful conflict resolution, and supported sustainable community development.
Today, Lawyers of Hope continues to empower vulnerable people by promoting their rights, dignity, and well-being, enabling them to overcome social and legal challenges. The organization envisions communities where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity, realize their full potential, and contribute to peaceful, inclusive, and thriving societies.
